Remain formal with selection panel in PI



MBA aspirants will soon be facing Personal Interview after having been selected in WAT / Essay / Extempore Speech / GD. Most of the time you will be greeted with informal way by selection panel so that you remain at ease to give your best.
PI is essentially a one to one chat wherein you are expected to come up and showcase your inner personality to the panel. In the process some of you might get swayed with informal chat and mistake can be committed to become a little friendly and that may be some times suicidal hence, you should remain formal with selection panel in PI.
It is advised to practice in front of mirror and speak with yourself that will give you confident to be successful in PI.

Strategies to crack February MAT 2013!



MBA aspirants who are appearing in forthcoming MAT on 3rd February 2013 must adhere to schedule in a very strategic manner for oneself. Doing so will help the aspirant to follow a specific plan during the exam day and discipline oneself accordingly especially now when there isn't much time left for the exam. 

It does not matter what time of the day/night one decides to revise for the exam, they must bear in mind that it is not worth spending time studying too much for long hours, especially over weak area in this last moment. 

If they do so, they won’t be able to complete their revision in the given time period because of fatigue. A break now and then will do them a lot of good. The important thing to remember is that one should be mentally fresh and ready to absorb at that point of time. 

Remember, quality is always better than quantity. Still, 6 hours per day is necessary in these remaining days to achieve a 95 plus percentile (700+ composite score). 

The candidate should read newspapers and magazines, watch English language news channels to avoid monotony and thus, also prepare for general awareness section. 

One of the most important factors to consider while preparing for MAT 3rd February2013 is maintaining a good balance between accuracy and speed. The time given for completing the exam is limited (only 150 minutes for 200 questions) and hence answering the questions accurately keeping in mind the time consideration is the key.

You must counter in GD!



Group discussion or GD is forum wherein you must discuss the topic with pros and cons. Besides your communication, your skill on countering co group member statement and further elaborating is also on anvil. 

With the above skill you will be benefited two folds, one you will be able to listen carefully and forming habit of understanding others second you will be able to focus on topic automatically. 

Countering on some point is not interruption or objection. This is an art which can be developed with practice in small group. After having countered, onus will be on you to simply and forcefully close in with valid logical thinking because on your finishing others might follow the same route and if found they are better than you so you might lose opportunity to be leader in GD
 
It is essential to read GD topics on variety of subjects to be successful in GD!!

Don’t feel bogged down!



Those who could not get required percentile in CAT 2012 are under pressure for taking next recovery step. Hopefully aspirants who have been unlucky will be taking judicious steps based on SWOT post result. 

Repeat of exam may be easiest recovery step but before you do that you need to understand that where you went wrong?  Is it a fundamental which are bothering you or practice is not at par with competition or direction of preparation is not latest to compete with fierce competition? 

Luck doesn’t play any role as it is equation of 98% hard work and 2% luck based on first. You need to look forward, don’t look back, don’t feel bogged down.

Talk facts and be sure for what you are saying in GD


You are expected to speak and communicate at your best in GD which is essentially a test to know your soft skills like verbal communication, body language, leadership and attitudinal aspects.
You can’t afford to speak for which others either feel offended or don’t buy your point. If you are focusing on theme of topic and remain in tune with subject matter, Chances are high that you will be heard.
Factual facts related to topic must be presented and you should be sure on what you are saying because others are waiting to counter you in GD and since it is competition, you might be cornered if you are out of focus.
GD being subjective by nature has to be taken seriously with ensured positive participation. Domain knowledge and presentation is the key to be successful in GD.
