You need to clear “Written Ability Test” after CAT 2012 score

CAT aspirants who are aspiring to be selected in any of IIMs must note that even after having scored high percentile in CAT, you need to clear WAT (Written Ability Test) which will be conducted by all IIMs individually at their campus.

IIMs have found WAT as alternative tool to GD for testing aspirant’s communication skills. 

In WAT you will be tested for your handwriting, creative writing and over all expression of thoughts in a format of Essay writing or on  any specified topic of current affairs but in a stipulated time frame of 15 to 20 minutes.

Later during PI you may be asked questions on what you have written in WAT. Such is the importance of WAT in ultimate selection to IIMs.

Preparation of WAT cannot be done overnight hence, you need to start practicing with writing a stanza on contemporary topics.

Last days of CAT 2012 Preparation

CAT 2012 is just approached and hardly one and a half week left for the exam. Understandably anxiety is forefront and fear of competition has engulfed you sub consciously. 

You need to neutralize these trouble shooting factors and have to be bold to face and compete. Best way is to continue with Mock Tests for each section of DI/QA and VA/LR. 

Your strengths will lead you for success in CAT 2012. Time for any other factor is over and rectification of minuses needs to be at a very minute level now as bigger flaws have to be dropped now because that might impact positivity. Nevertheless you may try up to some extent but while ensuring that not much time is consumed.

At present, time and accuracy are only two mantras to be practiced for achieving success in CAT 2012!!!

Practice is the only mantra for DI section in CAT 2012

Practice is the most important mantra for clearing DI in CAT 2012.  With practice your speed will increase considerably. You would have attempted all kinds of DI questions many number of times. You will end up attempting more questions correctly, thus increasing your score.

Your confidence will increase considerably. You know you have practiced a lot. This will help you face tough questions with determination.

So try to solve at least three DI question every day. Refer to good books that have a lot of solved and un-solved questions for practice. 

Mock Tests will positively provide you required practice but it would be better to keep on doing analysis after every mock so that mistakes can be rectified forever. 

Time is really less now as exam is few days ahead. With practice you are bound to achieve confidence and you will achieve mission CAT 2012.

CAT 2012 is not a difficult exam!

CAT 2012: Exam will be Tough

CAT 2012 aspirants might get surprises at forthcoming exam  as it will be as tough as it is expected. 

But toughness is mainly a mental conditioning of exam phobia. Let’s be clear that CAT will be taken by two lakhs plus aspirants and scores being given on percentile basis makes this exam highly competitive and chances of getting PI call from IIM diminishes even for one percentile. 

For neutralizing the exam phobia this is the last chance as still few days are left for exam because last minute preparation or rectification on solution will spoil the party. 

The best way to have clarity on exam will be to make a final schedule now and close the execution at least five days ahead to exam date which you might have scheduled as per your convenience. This will lead you to mental relaxation and that is also one of the basic requirements for you after having prepared for CAT so exhaustively.
