Right from our school days we have been writing Essay with conviction that we will be scoring. We felt confident because here was an opportunity to write with our own ideas and express ourselves & we need not mug up any stanza of some chapter from the book. 

Besides, focus on topic, body copy and concluding paragraph within stipulated time frame and limitation of words other parameters are domain knowledge, handwriting, grammar and expression to judge the quality of Essay.

A certain amount of curiosity will remain as how to compete in Essay writing Test. The more you have updated yourself with current affairs the more you will be at ease to handle the topic.  Listening current affairs programs on radio and reading news paper will help but having discussion on related subjects within a group is bound to give you satisfactory results to be successful in Essay writing during MBA admission.

MBA education shapes your career

After my result of B. Com honors I was really upset as I missed percentage which would have got me admission in PG. I felt lost but my professor guided me to take up CAT plus two other exams from XAT, NMAT, SNAP or MAT.  

After having cleared two exams with valid scores, I got admitted in one of the prestigious B school at Mumbai. Today I am proud of my MBA qualification because of the sheer fact that not only I got placed in good company but I am able to relate my theory to work in my organization also.

The other day in my office when we were told that our sales promotion of our prestigious brand has bounced back and dealers are not picking our brand, we had to strategize to stop our competition which was playing spoilt game. I must admit that it is my MBA education that helped me to think with most practical ideas. We added freebee of our 4^th line product with our existing promotion and neutralized previous flaws. As a result we continued with our leadership in market.

MBA education taught us to become thinker & doer with disciplined positive attitude so that we can preempt moves of competition, well in time.

Personal Interview is to judge your maturity levels

The moment you are before selection panel, all eyes are looking at you with the same curiosity which you have had yourself before you faced PI panel. In fact similar anxiety will prevail to understand each other, after all personal Interview is one to one session. 

You have been declared eligible with valid scores and now you are being judged more on your responses both verbal and non verbal. You will be asked some teething questions in simple way just to judge your maturity level. Your reactions will be noticed and chances are high that you may be asked few questions based on your replies and gestures.

Self confidence with disciplined body language, visualizing for bright future and focus on career are top attributes to exemplify maturity as that will succeed you at Personal Interview.

Written Ability Test is a test on communication skills

 If verbal communication is skill then writing ability is an art. As the words denote that written ability is how better you can write for your audience as if you are talking to each one of them. 

Over a period of time concern on GD quality has been raised and new IIMs have adopted WAT as tool to test communication skills of MBA aspirants.

To gain the ability for writing power you must practice on assigned topics, read your sentences that will give you safest idea whether stanzas are sounding logical or still improvement is needed.

GD is test for participation and communication

The other day when my date came for GD session, on that day morning I developed stomach ailment and had to consult doctor who gave me pills so that I am okay within time and I can participate in Group Discussion. 

But somehow or the other I couldn’t recover and continued with stomachache that hampered my participation in Group Discussion. I could only muster confidence to speak one line conclusion on topic. But seemed that was noticed by selection panel members.

Later when I was declared successful in GD, I realized that it is because of my understanding of topic I was able to conclude in effective manner. Thanks to my beforehand preparation which I started, the moment my entrance exams were over. 

Let us be clear that personal ailment, anxiety, stress or fear psychosis will have nil effect on GD selection panel, the only tuning point for being successful at Group Discussion is how you communicate at the best with analytical way on topic and how you conclude.

“Tell us about yourself” is the most frequently asked opening statement being told to the candidate by selection panel during PI or Personal Interview. What an opportunity for you to sell yourself, go ahead and narrate your story highlighting your achievements, pluses , your zeal to lean, your passion to achieve etc.
